The One Place For Inspiration

inspiration-article-1THE FINDING – CGSOCIETY

Today I stumbled upon (not to be mixed up with the online service StumbleUpon) one of those websites (that’s probably been around for ages) that spoke to the creative side of my brain. I am a sucker for 3D design and every now and then I go all out to find a good page to keep me busy for hours straight.

It jumped on me in the exact right moment as I had been creatively challenged now for half a day or so. Don’t you just hate those moments when you can’t even come up with a decent design enough to fit in the trash! It sucks!

Anyway, at first glance of the site I was in awe. It had me at that one second I entered it. Simple as that. The site just screams -”We have the best shit!” and that is an understatement. Literally 1000’s of 3D artists submit their work to this site in hope of getting it rated among the 5 star league. Once you do, you can apparently use it any job application that you like. It’s that powerful. And it should be! Cause when looking at the artwork presented in the site I just drop. I mean, with the talent represented here the special effects in even Lord Of The Rings has to stand in the shadow.

I have randomly chosen a picture created by Michael Sormann from Austria. He is using Maya to model and render this piece of stunning artwork. Dude, you pack some serious talent. Good job! Keep it up is all I have to say!

I urge anyone who has a bad day to drop in on this site. Get a glimpse of tomorrows special effects kids and just browse for hours straight cause that’s what it’ll do to ya.
