Free Set of Glossy Icons – Volume 1

Submitted by Richard Darell60,926 Views | 55 Comments

Just finished up my first set of free Icons that you can really use. It is a set of 15 customized Icons that is available for download at the bottom of this post. I started off without having any idea of where I would end up so the bunch is kind of two-faced as far as style and execution. Never the less I believe you can use them for something at least.

I called it “ICONS – Volume 1” cause I want to extend the package as time goes by. I already have some great designs that I feel fits right into this package. I will post them when I am finished with the next batch.

Include a full gallery of the 15 Icons included in the “Volume 1” package right underneath here. Hope you will enjoy them as much as I did creating them.

Formats included are:

256*256, 128*128, 96*96, 72*72, 64*64, 48*48, 32*32, 24*24, 16*16 all in variations of 32bit, 16bit and 8bit colors.

Quite useful as off-the-shelf icons, but they are also great for icon design inspiration. Thanks for sharing! :)

The Upload one is a bit strange though.. What were you trying to get across with that one?

Also, why “superfly” on the controller? :)

Is there a chance you could do a tutorial on creating icons? Maybe pick a couple and show us the process?

    Twinster Reply:

I had just thought of that idea a few weeks back. Will still take me some time to finish one up as I have more then 4 tutorials coming up here on Minervity.com that I need to finish first. All are in their last stage so it shouldnät be THAT long, but a week or two from now anyways.

I never get stuff like this – hate to be a nay sayer but really… these are way too cartoony and what kind of application or site needs a set of icons for these tools. Most of the images aren’t even intuitive for a casual user to interpret what they could possibly mean. I’m not impressed and it just makes me glad I make all my own icons and graphics.
